Silent Earth Studios LLC ("Silent Earth Studios," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through our website at https://www.silentearthstudios.com (the "Site"), how we use and share it, and the choices you have. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.

Our tattoo services are intended for adults 18 and older, and our Site is intended for a general adult audience.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide to us

• Booking and contact requests. When you submit our contact form, we collect the information you enter, which may include your name, pronouns, phone number, email address, the artist you'd like to work with, the size and body placement of the tattoo you want, your budget, your description of the tattoo, and your preferred appointment days and times.
• Newsletter sign-ups. When you join our email list, we collect your first name, last name, email address, and (optionally) your Instagram handle. Our newsletter may also serve as an entry into occasional giveaways.

Information we collect automatically

When you visit the Site, certain information is collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies, including your IP address, device and browser type, the pages you view, the site that referred you, your approximate location, and the dates and times of your visits. We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) for this purpose, as described in Section 4.

We do not collect payment card information through the Site. Tattoo deposits and in-studio payments are handled in person, and merchandise purchases are made through our separate Etsy store under Etsy's own policies (see Section 6).

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Respond to your inquiries and schedule consultations and appointments;
• Communicate with you about your booking and our services;
• Send our newsletter, promotions, event news, and giveaway information to people who have signed up;
• Operate, maintain, and improve the Site and understand how visitors use it; and
• Keep business records and comply with our legal obligations.

We rely on your consent to send marketing emails, and you can withdraw that consent at any time (see Section 8).

3. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioral ("targeted") advertising. We share information only in these limited ways:

• Service providers. We share information with companies that help us run the Site and our business, including Google (analytics), Mailchimp (newsletter delivery), and Webflow (website hosting and storage of form submissions). These providers may process your information only on our behalf.
• Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Silent Earth Studios, our clients, or others.
• Business transfers. If our business is sold or reorganized, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

4. Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use the Site. GA4 sets cookies and collects the automatic information described in Section 1. This data helps us measure traffic and improve the Site. Google processes this information in accordance with its own privacy policy, available at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics across websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Our Site also displays embedded content from Instagram (Meta). Viewing pages with embedded posts may cause Instagram to set its own cookies and collect information under Meta's privacy policy.

5. Newsletter and email choices

If you join our newsletter, we use Mailchimp to store subscriber information and send our emails. You can unsubscribe at any time using the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of any newsletter, or by emailing us at the address in Section 11. Even if you unsubscribe from marketing emails, we may still contact you about an appointment or inquiry you've initiated.

6. Links to other sites

The Site links to third-party services we don't control, including our Etsy store and our Instagram profile. Any information you provide on those platforms is governed by their privacy policies, not this one. We encourage you to review the policies of any third-party site you visit.

7. Data retention

We keep booking and contact information for as long as needed to respond to your inquiry, provide our services, and maintain reasonable business records, after which we delete or anonymize it. We keep newsletter subscriber information until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove it. Analytics data is retained according to our Google Analytics settings and Google's retention policies.

8. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access or receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
• Correct inaccurate information;
• Request deletion of your information;
• Opt out of marketing emails; and
• Opt out of the sale of personal information or targeted advertising — though, as noted above, we do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.

Oregon residents. Under the Oregon Consumer Privacy Act, Oregon residents may have the rights described above, including the right to confirm whether we process their personal data and to obtain a copy of it. Residents of other states with comprehensive privacy laws may have similar rights.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address in Section 11. We will respond as required by applicable law and may need to verify your identity before acting on your request. You will not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.

9. Children's privacy

Our services are for adults 18 and older, and the Site is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Data security

We use reasonable measures to protect the information we collect. However, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
