Adhesive Bandages
(Saniderm, Tegaderm, SecondSkin, etc.)
Initial Application (Applied by Artist)
We apply the first bandage immediately after your tattoo is complete. Leave this initial bandage on for 8-24 hours. You may notice fluid buildup underneath - this is normal! It's a combination of plasma, ink, and lymph fluid.
First Bandage Removal
1.
Wash your hands thoroughly with antibacterial soap
2.
Remove the bandage slowly - it's easiest in a warm shower
3.
Gently wash the tattoo with fragrance-free antibacterial soap and lukewarm water
4.
Pat dry with a clean paper towel (avoid fabric towels that can harbor bacteria)
5.
Let the tattoo air dry for 5-10 minutes
Second Bandage Application (Optional)
If provided, you can apply a second bandage. Ensure the tattoo is completely dry before applying. Leave this bandage on for 3-5 days.
After removing the second bandage, transition to the washing and moisturizing routine below. Do not apply a third bandage.

Days 4-14

Weeks 2-4+
Continue moisturizing daily until the tattoo is fully healed. Your skin will look shiny and may feel slightly raised - this is normal. After 4 weeks, the surface should be healed, but deeper layers continue healing for several months.
Always use sunscreen (SPF 30+) to protect your tattoo from fading.

Submerge in water (pools, hot tubs, ocean)
Apply alcohol, peroxide, or Neosporin

Clients regularly ask me questions about their tattoo aftercare, here is a list of the most common questions I have received. If you have any additional questions, please contact us.
How long does that tattoo healing process take?
Generally, it takes 2-4 weeks for the outer layer of skin to heal.
When can I resume normal activities?
Light activities can be resumed immediately, but avoid strenuous exercise for at least 2 weeks.
Is it normal for my tattoo to peel?
Yes, peeling is a normal part of the healing process.
How often should I apply moisturizer to my new tattoo?
Apply a thin layer of moisturizer 2-3 times a day or whenever the tattoo feels dry or tight. Be careful not to over-moisturize, as this can clog pores and delay healing.
Is it normal for my tattoo to itch during healing?
Yes, itching is a normal part of the healing process. Resist the urge to scratch and instead gently pat the area or apply a thin layer of moisturizer.
How long should I wait before getting my tattoo touched up if needed?
ait at least 4-6 weeks after getting your tattoo before considering a touch-up. This allows time for complete healing and for you to see the final result.
