Before you book, a few things are worth knowing about getting a tattoo in Oregon specifically — plus a few about how we run our NE Portland studio. Clean answers, no fine print.
No. In the state of Oregon it is illegal to tattoo minors, full stop — even with a parent’s permission and even if they’re standing right there signing forms. Every client must be 18 or older with a valid government-issued photo ID. There are no exceptions, so please don’t ask us to make one.
Yes — we’re an appointment-only studio. The best way to start is our contact form, which routes you to the right artist for your idea.
Yes. A non-refundable deposit holds your appointment and goes 100% toward the cost of your tattoo. Each artist sets their own deposit rate, so check your artist’s page — DJ, Ellie, or Arianna — for the exact amount. It’s transferable to a rescheduled appointment as long as you give at least 48 hours’ notice, and chronic rescheduling can mean forfeiting it, so be as flexible and communicative as you can.
Please — and we mean this with love — stay home. Contact your artist as early as you can and we’ll reschedule you with priority once you’re feeling better. We spend hours in close contact with clients, so we reserve the right to send you home if you show up visibly unwell. It’s about keeping all of us (and our families) healthy.
One calm support person is welcome — just keep the entourage small, since the studio is a cozy upstairs space. A long session goes easier with someone you like nearby, but a crowd makes it harder for your artist to focus, so leave the rest of the crew at home.
Absolutely — it’s one of the things we’re proudest of. We’re a licensed Oregon studio that takes safety seriously, with single-use needles and tubes, a fresh sterile setup for every client, and hospital-grade everything. Plus plants and good music, which aren’t regulated but absolutely help. More questions live on our full FAQ.
